Travel Items Under $20 That We Love

Hi Reader,

Summer is calling! And whether you’re heading for salty beach air, mountain trails, or a spontaneous weekend getaway, packing smart can make all the difference. We’ve rounded up a few of our tried-and-true summer essentials to keep your travels easy, breezy, and stress-free.

Want to see our full list? CLICK HERE.

🦟 Nat Patch Mosquito Patches: Stickers for your clothes that use natural essential oils to repel mosquitos (pictured above). They don't leave nasty residue on your skin like bug spray and they smell a lot better too! And because they are so lightweight and compact, you can easily slip them into your purse or luggage.

Kayla used these all of last summer and noticed a significant decrease in the number of mosquito bites she normally gets. She is someone who easily racks up 10-15 in one evening outside, but didn't get a single mosquito bite when using these.

Tip: Placement is important. You need to make sure you are putting the patches near your exposed extremities for them to work most efficiently.

👕 Tide Sink Packets: Just enough Tide liquid detergent to wash a few items in the sink when traveling. These packets will not just make doing laundry on the go a breeze, they will also help you achieve your carry-on only goals because you'll be able to travel with less clothes!

Kayla tried these out on our recent group trip to Egypt, and they worked beautifully!

🪢 Silicone Cable Ties: Reusable cable ties with silicone casing that can be twisted and used however you need. These are surprisingly nifty and can be used in all sorts of ways when you travel!

Don't want to physically hold your water bottle or some other bulky item like an umbrella? Tie it to the strap of your purse or backpack. Wish you could prop your phone or Nintendo switch up more on the plane? Use the cable ties. Have some tech cables that are getting tangled or in the way? Keep them organized with these.

One of our guests brought these to Egypt and used them nonstop in the most creative ways! We immediately bought some for ourselves when we got back home.

🪥 Travel Toiletry Bag: Amanda uses this hanging toiletry bag for her year-round organization for toiletries. It's large enough to hold her makeup, toiletries, and hair products. If she's checking a bag for a trip, this bag is definitely going with her.

For carry-on only trips, the hanging bag can take up too much space sometimes though. So traveling with a smaller toiletry bag with tons of organization like this one makes her hyper-organization brain really happy.

💦 Wet Dry Bags: Designed to be able to keep wet items sealed up so that they do not get dry items wet. Amanda has found these to be hugely helpful on trips. Like when she has wanted to go for a swim somewhere but doesn't have time for her swimsuit to dry. Or when she's wanted a place to keep dirty laundry separated from clean clothes. They can also double for a market bag!

🧴 TSA Approved Clear Bag: Raise your hand if you've been a victim of the UK airport security making you remove all the liquids from your bag to put in a clear plastic bag 🙋🏻‍♀️ It seems completely random - Sometimes European airports make you do it. Sometimes they don't.

But it can be a little less annoying if you're prepared for it! Place all of your carry-on liquids in this clear bag when you pack. Then at the airport, you just have to put it through the scanner instead of scrambling last minute.

⭐ Bonus Items Currently on Sale for Less Than $20:

Dual Voltage Curling Iron: You won't need a converter to use this curling iron in different countries, because it's dual voltage!

Compression Packing Cubes: Wanting to give packing cubes a try? This pack will give you 2 to try out. This is your warning that you'll become obsessed though. Amanda loves this set!

Travel Jewelry Case: Kayla takes this on every single trip!

From our suitcase to yours,

Kayla & Amanda

Hi Reader, Not all beaches are created equal, and that’s a good thing! The “perfect” beach depends less on the beauty of it and more on how you actually want to spend your time. Quiet mornings with coffee and jam packed afternoons? Bike rides and beach bars? Wide-open wilderness and beach strolls with your dog? As two Georgia girls, we've spent a lot of time visiting beaches in the Southeastern USA. Here are some of the Southeast’s most beloved beaches and who they might be best suited for: 🌿...

The truth is, most places are far more nuanced than what your algorithm or news channels wants you to believe. If you want to travel smarter (and not fall for media BS), here’s how to sift through all the noise and make decisions based on reality, not hype: 🧭 Understand what your media sources are trying to tell you.
